After 15 years entrenched in the fast-paced world of technology, I found myself yearning for something more. The monotony of the tech space left me craving a creative outlet, a space where I could pour my passion into something tangible. I longed for the freedom to explore new avenues and create products that resonated with customers on a deeper level. That's when the idea of Barely Southern was born – a brand that would not only offer quality products but also serve as a platform for self-expression and individuality. 

In 2020, amidst the chaos of the pandemic, my family and I made a bold move. We picked up and rehomed ourselves from Massachusetts to Savannah, GA. It was a drastic change, a leap of faith, but one that we would make again in a heartbeat. The move symbolized a fresh start, a chance to pursue our dreams and embrace new opportunities with the vigor we had lost once kids entered the picture! 

After the move, I felt the urgency to find more fulfilling work intensify. As my kids grew rapidly before my eyes, I couldn't shake the feeling that there had to be more to life than the corporate grind. My personal drive for excellence and my love of fashion fueled my desire to create something meaningful – something that would make a difference not only in my life but in the lives of others as well. 

Launching Barely Southern wasn't just about starting a business – it was about embarking on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. It was about breaking free from the constraints of the corporate world and pursuing work that was truly fulfilling. As I poured my heart and soul into building Barely Southern, I discovered a sense of purpose and fulfillment that I had been searching for all along. 

Today, as I watch Barely Southern launch and evolve, I'm reminded of the power of change and the importance of following your passions. The journey hasn't been easy, but every challenge has been worth it. Barely Southern isn't just a brand – it's a labor of love, a testament to the power of perseverance and the beauty of chasing your dreams.
